The Audit Trail is a detailed log of all automation and connection runs in your Briq environment. It is an essential tool for tracking activity and troubleshooting automation failures.
Accessing the Audit Trail
Navigate to the Connections tab on the left-hand menu.
Click on Audit Trail to view the full log of automation and connection events.
Note: You may need to have admin permissions to access the Audit Trail. If you don’t see this option, please contact your Briq administrator.
Audit Trail Table Overview
Each row in the audit trail represents a logged action. Here’s a breakdown of the table columns:
| Header | Description |
|---|---|
| Object | The data entity being accessed or updated by the bot. |
| System | The external system the bot interacts with. |
| Project | The specific set of workflows or tasks using connections/automations. |
| Bot Name | Unique identifier for the bot. |
| Object Number | Unique ID of the data object within the system. |
| Detailed Message | A brief log describing the result or status of the action, including errors or success messages. |
| Date/Time | Timestamp for when the event occurred. |
| Exception Classification | Categorization of any errors that occurred (e.g., system error, business rule error). |
| Record Details | A more in-depth look at the record involved. |
Understanding Execution Results
Successful: Actions completed without issues.
Business Expectations: Errors due to user-related data issues (e.g., missing or invalid entries). These need to be resolved by the user.
System Exceptions: Technical errors (e.g., bot failures or misconfigurations) requiring IT support.
Tip: Clicking on the difference statuses is a way to quick filter the audit trail table
Audit Trail Features
Export: Download the log as a CSV file for external review or documentation.
Refresh: Updates the audit trail to display the latest data.
Search Bar: Search across all columns to find specific entries.
Automation vs. Connection Views
Automation: Tracks activities performed by robots, such as:
AP Invoice Automation to ERP
Email to Spend Management
Credit Card Transaction Automation to ERP
Connection: Logs data transfer from external systems into Briq, such as:
- Microsoft Dynamics FGP Database Connection
- Sage 300 Database Connection
- Spectrum Viewpoint Database Connection
Switch Views Easily:
Use the radio buttons at the top to toggle between Automation and Connection logs.
Time Range Filters
Select a timeframe to filter logs:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| now - 1d | Past 24 hours |
| now - 7d | Past 7 days |
| now - 1m | Past 30 days |
You can also manually enter a custom time range. Enter the days (example 60d) then hit enter.
Viewing RPA Video Logs
For automations using Robotic Process Automation (RPA):
Hover over the log entry to see the video icon.
Click to watch a recording of the bot’s activity.
A pop-up will appear with the video. You can play right from here, or choose to download.
Note: Video logs are only available for RPA automations, not for API-based automations.
Link to Attachment
This is represented by a link icon.
Clicking it opens the related file, such as a PDF invoice or other supporting document tied to the log entry.
Link to Object
This is represented by a new tab icon.
Clicking it opens the associated object—such as an invoice or transaction—directly in Briq in a new browser tab.
